Join a Park Ranger for an evening haywagon ride
through Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park during the Fall
Harvest Hayride Program that begins on Tuesday, October 23 and lasts through
Saturday, October 27, 2001.
Guided hayrides will leave from the Cades Cove Riding Stables at 7:00
p.m.,
7:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. nightly Tuesday through Friday and on
Saturday the same times are set with an additional ride scheduled at 9 p.m.
The program will last approximately two hours and will be conducted
regardless of weather conditions unless deemed unsafe.
Space on the wagons is limited. Advance reservations are required and can be
made by telephoning the Cades Cove Riding Stables at 865-448-6286.
The cost is $8.00 per person two years old and older.
Bring the family, comfortable clothing for the weather, and a flash light for parking and restroom area.

Devil's Courthouse
From this magnificent plateau on the Blue Ridge Parkway
at milepost 422 one can see three different states - a
veritable ocean of forest-covered mountains. Easy footing
but a very steep climb, so we rate it MODERATE.
Waterrock Knob
From this magnificent knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway at
milepost 450 one can see the Plott Balsam Mountains - a
sea of forest-covered mountains. Easy footing, at first,
but a very steep climb onto natural terrain
thereafter, so we rate it DIFFICULT.
Sliding
Rock
Pack a swimsuit because you can glide down this natural
water slide. Decks provided for observers. Allow 2-3
hours, drive included.
Looking Glass Falls
Off 276 S., just south of Sliding Rock. Scenic drive.
